Onboarding

The first days and weeks in a workplace are often marked by challenges and misunderstandings for employees and teams, such as differing caregiving practices or varying expectations of the workday. These practices and expectations also interact with the aspirations of employees (i.e. maintaining transnational social connections). Accordingly, onboarding must be diversity-sensitive and resource-intensive.
Research Questions:
- How do stakeholders design the onboarding process in the workplace, and what forms of cooperation can be identified?
- To what extent are individuals with migration backgrounds empowered to contribute to the onboarding of new colleagues?
